Salary: $52,000 annually

Position Summary 

The Domestic Violence Case Manager provides direct support services to survivors of intimate partner violence, including safety planning, crisis intervention, and comprehensive case management. This role helps survivors access resources such as shelter, housing, legal aid, healthcare, and counseling, while promoting autonomy, healing, and empowerment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Client Support

  • Conduct intake assessments and create individualized service and safety plans with clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support, in-person and via phone.
  • Assist survivors with obtaining protective orders, housing, public benefits, and other resources.
  • Accompany clients to court, medical appointments, and housing interviews as needed. Facilitate referrals to mental health services, legal aid, job training, and other community supports.

Case Management

  • Maintain a caseload of survivors receiving ongoing services.
  • Track progress toward goals and update service plans regularly.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with systems such as child welfare, law enforcement, and housing authorities.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential documentation in compliance with agency policies and funder requirements.

Program Support

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff, advocates, counselors, and external partners to coordinate care.
  • Contribute to outreach and awareness events as needed.

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with survivors of domestic violence or other vulnerable populations.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and survivor-centered practices.
  • Knowledge of community resources, public benefits, housing systems, and legal protections for survivors.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or case management software.

Preferred

  • Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, people with disabilities, or other marginalized communities.
  • Familiarity with local court systems and protective order processes.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Office-based with travel to court, hospitals, and community agencies.
  • May involve participation in after-hours crisis response or on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment with compassion and professionalism.
