Position Summary

The Bilingual Case Manager will provide counseling services for children living in our temporary emergency shelters and homes as they await family unification. The Case Manager is a motivated, culturally sensitive individual who is dedicated to the care of international children living in the United States. The Case Manager will coordinate and provide individual and group living skills assessment and training for all children within the Juntos program.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Case Manager assists in maintaining 24-hour case management coverage and provides rotating on-call emergency coverage as needed.  This individual coordinates and provides individual and group living skills assessment and training. The case manager monitors and performs individualized life skills instruction, designs a Sponsor reunification plan for each youth assigned to caseload and updates the plan on a weekly basis. The Case Manager performs direct counseling and treatments services and performs case management for youth assigned in caseload while also assisting in other advocacy for sheltered youth as needed.  The Case Manager transports youth in caseload at the onset of a youth's shelter placement and to various medical, recreational, educational and employment appointments.  The Case Manager advocates for youth and performs crisis intervention, counseling, youth supervision and other related activities to meet 24-hour operational activities of the program. The schedule for this position is generally 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. However, the Case Manager is on call 24/7/365 and the position requires some evening and weekend hours.

Requirements: 

  • Certified Social Worker (CSW) or equivalent certification, if applicable
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or related field, or extensive experience
  • Three to five years' experience working with youth
  • Two years of experience counseling high-risk youth and families, one year experience in providing group counseling services
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish 
  • Excellent driving skills and current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years 
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
