Position Summary:

To provide effective trauma-based approaches to children and teens who have been impacted by drug abuse in the family. The primary goal of the program is to support children and youth who are impacted by substance abuse in the family by creating safe environments and programming that foster a sense of peace, safety and healing from a range of reactions. The primary services include individual and group counseling, in-home short term post-traumatic grief services, mobile recovery and resiliency groups, and community workshops.

Job Type/Status: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to goals, methods and interventions specific to trauma and loss counseling
• Provide Access Center with schedule and opening slots for new clients
• Provide assessments, individual, group and/or family counseling sessions or psycho-educational groups to children/teen survivors of the opioid crisis
• Participate in the development and planning of sessions
• Provide In-home Short-Term Traumatic Grief Outreach Services
• Provide the Classroom-community-Culture Based Intervention at schools, substance abuse treatment and recovery programs, faith-based organizations, or community centers
• Provide trainings and community workshops on grief and traumatic loss
• Provide post trauma recovery groups to children and teens who have experienced loss due to an overdose
• Participate in the Grief and Traumatic Loss Team Meetings
• Participate in a quarterly Center For Family Services' Trauma and Violence Prevention Cluster Team meeting.
• Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• MSW, or MA in a related human services field
• Licensed in your field of practice (MFT, LCSW, LPC) preferred or LSW, LAC Required.
• At least three-year experience working with children and teens
• Experience working in grief and traumatic loss
• Knowledge in trauma informed care and substance abuse
• Clearly communicate ideas in both written and verbal form
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings
• Complete training in TF-CBT and CBI
• Valid driver's license in the state of his/her residence, insurance, and clean driving record
