About CPSAI (Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative):

Our Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative's top priority is the safety and well-being of children. By treating the alcohol/drug problems of the caregivers, we help provide a more secure environment for children. The program is a collaboration between Center For Family Services and DCP&P. Our certified alcohol and drug counselors conduct evaluations on parents and caregivers who are suspected of having substance abuse problems and when necessary make treatment referrals for them. Aides provide clients with transportation, communication access to assessment appointments, and case management.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Counselor Aide to support services provided within the DCPP offices. This role involves client interaction, transportation, documentation, and collaboration with both DCPP and internal staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support to clients as directed by supervisory staff.
• Transport clients to and from their first appointments with our agency and to their initial treatment sessions using agency vehicles.
• Maintain flexible hours when early or late appointments are necessary. In these cases, the supervisor will assist in adjusting hours accordingly on another day of that week.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with DCPP and internal CFS staff via email, phone, and in-person.
• Assist in obtaining urine and/or oral swab drug screens from clients (training will be provided).
• Accurately document client interactions and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and client needs.

Requirements:

• Strong computer skills and proficiency with email, data entry, and document management.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and comfort driving agency vehicles.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion in a child protection environment.
• Must be flexible, dependable, and team-oriented.
