Position Summary: 

The Data Program Specialist plays a key role in supporting the department's ongoing grants monitoring and program evaluation process through data collection, tracking, reporting. Key tasks include the development of data collection and monitoring tools for grants, data reporting, designing data charts and graphs, designing surveys, analyzing data, and building communication systems with partners on outcomes.

Job Type/Status: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist AVP in overseeing data collection, tracking, and reporting of program outputs and outcomes

  • Research and develop methods and/or tools to monitor various grants' objectives/outcomes within the department

  • Identify gaps in data reporting and develop measures to collect additional information. 

  • Create data charts and graphs for visual analysis and reporting 

  • Create guides and training tools to support implementation of new methods of data collection and outcome tracking

  • Train staff to collect data and report outcomes

  • Create reports and impact flyers for distribution to community partners

  • Assess gaps in communication of data sharing and create plans to improve systems

  • Work with the AVP and Department Leaders to plan regular meetings for sharing data, analyzing data, reviewing progress, and bridging services

  • Develop client surveys and oversee implementation of the surveys

  • Assist in identifying needs and gaps of services based on data for potential grant writing opportunities

  • Assist in the completion of regular reports in a timely manner as required by funding sources and the Agency

  • If interested, can participate on Agency committees and special tasks, 

  • Promote a sense of agency with co-workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values.

  • Adhere to policies and procedures of CFS

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA degree (or equivalent) in information management, computer science, social work, or relevant field preferred 

  • Knowledge and experience in data collection, tracking and reporting

  • Creative - Ability to create data charts and graphs for visual reporting

  • Critical and analytical skills 

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and leadership staff to understand their data needs and build tracking methods

  • Ability to work in a team and independently

  • Computer proficiency, particularly with spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
