Salary Range: $83,000 per year

Position Summary

The Deputy Director of Child Services assumes overall responsibility for residential components of the Juntos Programs, which may include direct care oversight, enforcement of staff to youth ratios, administrative responsibilities, program development, and participating in the multidisciplinary team of the overall Agency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides residential supervision of program staff, students and volunteers. 
  • May provide crisis management and other direct service activity as needed. 
  • Assures the continuing training and development of program staff. 
  • Regularly schedules meetings with program staff to discuss plans, address areas of potential problems and program functioning. 
  • Coordinates program activities with appropriate liaison agencies to ensure constructive collaboration. 
  • Develops and promotes relationships with other social service agencies and represents the program and agency in the community. 
  • Performs administrative functions including the completion of regular reports in a timely manner as required by funding sources and the Agency, 
  • Critiquing and providing written feedback on communication exchanges, incident reports, significant incident reports etc. 
  • Provides leadership to staff, and promotes a sense of agency with co-workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values. 
  • Contributes to the overall development of the program. 
  • Responsible for drafting and or reviewing disciplinary actions as needed, collaborating with DCS for final approval and deliverance of document. 
  • Responsible for ensuring all ORR required reports are completed in compliance, meeting deadlines, in reference to the Assistant Directors. 
  • Collaborate and team with SLCM, and Lead Clinician to deliver high-quality services and offer a support system. 
  • Supervises APDs, while offering the rest of staff technical support as needed. 
  • Is responsible for oversight of the needs of the residential component of elevated youths. 
  • On-call rotation for 24 hours for intervention for UAC youth as needed 
  • Supervise, support, motivate, and empower the assistant directors and management teams who operate each program 
  • Work closely with the team in all aspects of program management, service delivery, program implementation, staffing issues, staff development and community support 
  • Ensure that all sites and services at sites are in compliance with contracts, licensing, and reporting requirements, and help develop and monitor measurable outcomes 
  • Offers in person supervision and support across all shelters. 
  • Responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) alongside DCS. 
  • Conduct quarterly needs assessments as well as develop report of findings within the residential department. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work with 5 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience 
  • Supervisory experience 
  • Excellent written documentation skills 
  • Effective time management skills Bilingual language fluency in both English and Spanish 
  • Excellent Driving skills and clean driving record 
  • Be a licensed driver for at least 3 years
