Position Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Family Success Center ensuring that the Standards for Prevention, Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors are incorporated into all aspects of the Family Success Center. Responsible for all reports, employee issues and maintaining relationships with community providers.
Job Responsibilities
Manages Family Success Center staff and volunteers including scheduling to ensure that two staff members are at the center at all times.
Plans and executes events to promote the center, ensuring DPCP contractual agreements are met, including Level of Service and outcomes
Builds relationships and collaborations with community and faith based organizations to promote the center and to provide supportive services for families in coordination with CFS Public Relations department.
Provides Parent Advisory Board with direction, resources, and support.
Ensures Prevention Factors, Standards of Prevention, and Strengthening Families Logic Model is incorporated in services.
Ensures FSC staff are trained on the Standards for Prevention, Principles of Family Support and the Protective Factors; leads workshops on these principles for staff
Responsible for creating and ensuring a warm and welcoming gathering place where any community resident can go for family support, information and services
Provides direct services and administrative supervision of program staff, clients and volunteers.
May provide direct service activity as needed.
Assures the continuing training and development of program staff.
Regularly schedules meetings with program staff to discuss plans, address areas of potential problems and program functioning.
Performs administrative functions including the completion of reports in a timely manner in accordance with funders' requirements.
Conducts employee evaluations annually in accordance with Center For Family Services' policies and procedures
Treats colleagues and family members as individuals with respect and dignity.
Completes documentation and other reporting requirements.
Attends all required staff meetings, program and Center For Family Services activities.
Reviews progress in professional development and growth objectives periodically with supervisor.
Discusses family and staff issues, when necessary, only with designated appropriate staff.
Reports any suspected child/elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey's guidelines
Conducts self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues and funding sources in accordance with Center For Family Services' Code of Ethics.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred and extensive experience in field
At least 5 years of experience working with program population
Experience in building collaborations among individuals and organizations
Licenses/Certifications:
Maintains First A and CPR certifications, as required by funder and licensing agent for specific programs pertinent to this position
Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of his/her residence if job is classified as Occasional or Essential driving
Must have and maintain automobile insurance if driving a personal vehicle
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Understanding of preventive strategies and the value of empowering families
Ability to give and carry out written and oral directions.
Negotiates, persuades, and modifies opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of Center For Family Services.
Ability to complete basic mathematical operations and use them to calculate figures such as percentages and means for the analysis of reports
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and responds to email in a professional manner
Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in the prioritizing of workload and inclusion of supervisor in staff and programmatic decisions
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours.
Must be able to lift / carry up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to travel to different Center For Family Services' building sites, community agencies and client homes in the community.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions including heat, snow, rain and humidity.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
