Location: Camden County, NJ

Job Type/Status: Full-Time (Flexible schedule 8 am to 8pm/40 hour work week (paid for 35), includes 1 hour unpaid lunch each day)

    Salary: $50,000 per year

    Position Summary: 

    Facilitates/co-facilitates home visits with clinician for intensive, in-home clinical treatment program for families with young children at risk for abuse, neglect, poor developmental outcomes and removal due to parental substance use. The overarching goal of the program is to promote stability, safety and permanence for families. Works with a caseload of 12 families.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a regular and long-term relationship with the family.
    • Activity will occur primarily within the participant's home; each visit should last for at least one hour. The interventions should be family-centered, and strength based.
    • Assist in strengthening the parent-child relationship.
    • Assist in increasing the family support system and increase the family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocating for themselves and their children.
    • Assist clients with identifying and accessing basic needs and utilize online databases as needed;
    • Responsible for assisting the family in establishing goals and a plan for the accomplishment of those goals. The assessment of the normal growth and development of the target child.
    • Provide linkages to community resources
    • Assist clients in school and job preparation;
    • Assist clients in applying for NJ family care, as needed;
    • Connect clients to a medical home;
    • Refer children to early intervention services, as needed; and
    • Attend weekly social club meetings
    • Maintain contact with the client's MAT provider, as appropriate;
    • Work in close collaboration with DCP&P local office from the time of the referral until the client is discharged
    • Frequently communicate with the assigned DCP&P caseworker via phone/encrypted email about client's progress and any concerns about the client's functioning
      • Meet monthly with IHRP Team, DCP&P caseworker, supervisor, and DCP&P/IHRP liaison at local DCP&P office to review case progress
    • Notify the DCP&P caseworker when a client relapses
    • Utilize abstinence-related tracking tools to graph recovery-related activities;
    • Submit all required data to the Clinical Supervisor;
    • Knowledge of normal child growth/ development and parent - child relationships.
    • Experience in working with community agencies, including implementing referral processes.
    • Experience in working with culturally diverse communities/families and the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
    • Demonstrates strong writing, effective communication and organizational skills
    • Enters and maintains data entry of client information info database(s).
    • Ability to travel throughout New Jersey to attend required core trainings, curricula training and ongoing trainings required by the model and/or agency.
    • Infant mental health endorsement level I or II preferred.
    • Participate in technical assistance meetings and calls.
    • Attend required trainings;

      REQUIREMENTS:

      • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related human services field (social work, psychology, sociology, etc.) 

      • Experience working in a behavioral health related field, knowledge of effects of substance use disorders on families a plus

      • Bilingual preferred but not required

      • Knowledge of normal child growth/ development and parent - child relationships

      • Experience working with community agencies, including implementing referral processes.

      • Experience working with culturally diverse communities/families and the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate

      • Strong writing, effective communication and organizational skills
