Job Type/Status: Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Family Support Worker will work directly with families in the program to ensure their needs are met, family goals are reached, and to reinforce lessons learned in the Saturday classes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment for participants at Baby's Best Start
  • Makes weekly friendly follow-up phone calls to families of program participants.
  • Assess Needs: Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand individual and family needs, strengths, and barriers to stable housing.
  • Develop Diversion Plans: Create short-term plans to address immediate housing needs and connect clients with resources to achieve long-term stability.
  • Connect with Resources: Facilitate access to financial assistance, submitting check requests, documentation for approval (signed lease, landlord W9) of rental or security deposits to Program Coordinator for submission to finance.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with community partners, such as shelters, churches, and other service providers, to build a supportive network and provide resources to the families.
  • Data Tracking: Monitor the effectiveness of diversion program and track key data points via spreadsheets and maintaining metrics for reporting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, up to 4 hours.

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

  • Must be able to travel to different Center For Family Services' building sites, community agencies, and to client homes in the community.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions including heat, snow, rain, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Expected to work nights and weekends to meet the needs of families at the Center

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Associate degree or Higher and early childhood education college-level credits

- At least two years of experience working with the program population

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

- Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications, as required by the funder and licensing agent for specific programs pertinent to this position

- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of his/her residence if the job is classified as Occasional or Essential driving

- Must have and maintain automobile insurance if driving a personal vehicle

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral directions.

- Ability to complete documents such as attendance sheets and incident reports using accepted grammatical and spelling standards

- Ability to complete progress notes according to the program's requirements and maintain case files

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

- Ability to work independently and as a team member.

- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.

- Ability to read and respond to email in a professional manner

- Ability to manipulate spreadsheets to obtain statistical data

- Ability to exhibit good driving skills

- Ability to exhibit good phone etiquette skills

- Ability to demonstrate good family engagement skills
