Position Summary:

Provides direct counseling services and may perform specialized activities and functions.

Location: Glassboro, NJ, will require to travel to various locations as needed

Job Type/Status: Part Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct counseling services specific for minor victims of human trafficking.
  • May perform specialized activities and functions specific to program.
  • Completes documentation and other reporting requirements.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor, and participates in other continuing professional development opportunities.
  • Coordinates and provides individual and group living skills assessment and training for all residents. Will focus on youth identifying as LGBTQIA
  • Monitors and performs individualized life skills instruction, including ensuring the completion of an individualized life skills plans for each resident.
  • Designs a case management plan for each youth assigned to caseload at the onset of the youth's placement, and updates the plan on a weekly basis.
  • Performs direct counseling and treatment services for assigned caseload of residents including individual, group, parent and family counseling.
  • Transports youth in caseload at the onset of a youth's placement and updates the plan on a weekly basis.
  • Performs case management for youth assigned to caseload and assists in other advocacy for youth as needed.
  • Performs other crisis intervention, counseling, youth supervision and other related activities as necessary to meet 24-hour operational activities of the program.
  • Advocates for youth with the court system, local and state agencies, family members, etc.
  • Completes progress notes, collects statistics and completes written reports as required.
  • Meets with the designated program supervisor and clinical supervisor regularly for time structuring and case planning.
  • Attends training as needed & / or required to improve and maintain clinical and crisis intervention skills.
  • Assist in maintaining 24-hour on-call coverage and provides rotating on-call emergency coverage as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Contributes on Agency committees and special tasks, and promotes a sense of agency with co-workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Social Worker (CSW) or equivalent certification, if applicable.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or High School Diploma with extensive experience.
  • Knowledge and experience on the specific needs for the LGBTQIA2S population
  • Three years' experience counseling high risk youth and families, one-year experience in providing group counseling services. Experience working with the LGBTQIA2S population.
  • Excellent driving records.
