Salary: $45,000 annually

Position Summary

The Navigator works with the Attorney and clients to reduce the burden of outstanding legal and social issues that negatively impact an individual's recovery process and their ability to live successfully in the community of their choosing. The Navigator helps with a variety of social needs, including access to government programs, housing, employment, immigration, and family law matters. The goal is to avoid incarceration whenever safely possible and to address any social inequities from a legal perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one assistance to clients in Pathways to connect them to community resources
  • Assist the Attorney and clients with navigating legal resources and needs
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor, treatment staff, Navigator and system and community partners to ensure coordination of care.
  • Engage in a wide range of activities, including advocacy, linkage to resources, sharing of experience, community and relationship building, group facilitation, skill building, mentoring, goal setting, etc.
  • Ensure timely service delivery and collaborate with the Attorney and treatment team on client care on a regular basis in a culturally and linguistically competent manner.
  • Demonstrates progress toward program goals.
  • Carries out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor and requested by the Attorney.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Active Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification through the State of New Jersey preferred, in which case has a minimum of two years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and reach their full potential.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred
