POSITION SUMMARY:
Center for Family Services Mentoring Program is seeking to hire a part-time Mentor Coordinator. The primary responsibilities include but not limited to the recruitment, screening, training and monitoring of mentors for youth ages, 12-18. The Mentor Coordinator will ensure the academic needs/achievement goals of population served are met through mentoring. Some evening and occasional weekends may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement plans to expand the mentoring program for youth who have experienced chronic absenteeism or are involved with the juvenile justice system.
Respond to individuals inquiring about the mentoring volunteer opportunity.
Conduct Informational Sessions for potential mentors, and facilitate mentor trainings prior to mentors being matched with mentees.
Conduct presentations in the community.
Follow-up regarding interest and involvement of potential mentors.
Identify, coordinate and participate in opportunities for outreach to include speaking engagements, community events, etc.
Work with mentees, mentors and mentees' families in providing access to resources in the community
Complete in-home assessments with mentees and caregivers to identify mentee needs and areas of needed support to be communicated to and shared with the assigned mentor
Provide support for mentors in working with their mentees and families.
Track all recruitment, screening, training and mentor activities in database.
Track recruitment goals, efforts and achievements.
Ensure accurate and timely entry of data.
Provide quarterly reports on outcomes.
Serve as Liaison between mentee and mentor.
Assist in planning mentor in-service trainings and complete all required grant/agency trainings
Attend service provider meetings as needed in the community
Work collaboratively with Mentor team and Volunteer Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS:
BA in social work, psychology, criminal justice, education, or related field.
Generate community awareness for the program utilizing multiple social media outlets.
Experience in volunteer management and/or mentoring programs, preferred
Experience working with youth, preferably youth who are justice-impacted
Experience in marketing and community outreach, preferred.
Valid driver's license
