Job Location: Morris County

Job Status: Part time: 21 hours per week. Must have Afternoon/Evening availability. Must be flexible with scheduling to meet the needs of the clients and to support other ESVP and/or visitation staff when needed

Summary:

Center for Family Services is seeking a dedicated and responsible person for our part-time Enhanced Supervised Visitation Outreach Worker Position. The Outreach Worker will provide supervised visitation to children in foster care or who have been removed from their parents and are granted weekly visitation. The role of worker is to act as that of a non-biased and non-judgmental supervisor/observer of court ordered family visits. Visits occur in the office, in the community or in a home setting. The Outreach Worker Visit activities focus on supporting the parent child relationship and on providing the parent with opportunities to learn and practice new skills. At the end of each visit the Outreach Worker discusses behaviorally specific observations with the parent or caregiver and provides them with feedback (coaching) regarding what went well during the visit as well as areas to work on improving at future visits. Outreach Worker produces notes based on each supervised visit and coaching which are regularly submitted to the assigned CP&P worker.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring visits of non-custodial parent(s) with his/her child(ren) and/or between siblings when parent is unavailable
  •  Documentation of visits and interactions with families and collaterals
  •  Parent coaching component with each parent immediately following visits (feedback directly related to observations from the visit)
  •  Transportation coordination
  •  On-going interactions with referring entity (CP&P)
  •  Administrative responsibilities including but not limited to court reports as needed, schedule and transportation updates, entering data into online system

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in social work, human services, counseling, education or child care
  • Must be creative and independent worker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to maintain boundaries 
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be culturally sensitive to work with a diverse population.
  • Current driver's license & good driving record of 3 years
