Job Type/Status: Part-Time; Must have Afternoon/Evening availability. Must be flexible with scheduling to meet the needs of the clients and to support other ESVP and/or visitation staff when needed.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Center for Family Services is seeking a dedicated and responsible person for our part-time Supervised Visitation Outreach Worker Position. The Outreach Worker will provide supervised visitation to children in foster care or who have been removed from their parents and are granted weekly visitation. The role of worker is to act as that of a non-biased and non-judgmental supervisor/observer of court ordered family visits. Visits occur in the office, in the community or in a home setting. The Outreach Worker Visit activities focus on supporting the parent-child relationship during the visit. At the end of each visit the Outreach Worker will update their Supervisor about any issues or concerns that took place during the visit and provide notes based on each supervised visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring visits of non-custodial parent(s) with his/her child(ren) and/or between siblings when parent is unavailable
  •  Documentation of visits and interactions with families and collaterals
  •  Transportation coordination
  •  Administrative responsibilities including but not limited to court reports as needed, schedule and transportation updates, entering data into online system

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children in human services, education or childcare setting
  • Must be a creative and independent worker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to maintain boundaries 
  • Must be culturally sensitive to work with a diverse population.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish/Creole preferred
  • Current driver's license & good driving record of 3 years
