Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require.
- Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practice.
- Develop individual case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances.
- Maintain accurate and complete case files by updating database systems, submitting reports, and managing physical casefiles.
- Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require.
- Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices and conduct calls, interviews, and home visits.
- Build a network of local pro bono legal resources, food and clothing banks, mental health services and care providers to establish services for youth.
- Track individual progress via an online database.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.
- Participate in regular training and communication sessions with on-site and case work supervisor and headquarters staff.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
- Maintain CFS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in CFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
- Meet or exceed program productivity expectations on a regular and sustained basis.
- Ability to perform duties and services remotely from home.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) degree or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science equivalent.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish or have access to a professional interpretation service.
- Must have experience in conducting PRS according to the requirements in the state where services are being provided and must be skilled at writing professional, thorough assessment reports.
- Must have knowledge of local community social services and should have specialized experience conducting home studies and working with immigrant populations.
- PRS Case Managers should be knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including good communication skills, listening skills, and attitude.
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Detailed-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
- Position requires up to 50 percent of in state and/or out of state travel with limited notice.
- Should have excellent conflict resolution and communication skills Bilingual - English and Spanish
- Must complete all medical testing required by funders and/or licensing or oversight bodies, including but not limited to initial and ongoing: Mantoux Tuberculosis testing which may include an X-ray
- Must pass a physical examination
- Must complete all criminal background checks as required by funders and/or licensing or oversight bodies, including but not limited to initial and ongoing: Child Abuse Record Check (CARI), Additional Federal, State and local criminal checks
