Program Summary:
The Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative Program (CP-SAI) provides substance abuse assessments, urine drug screens, referral to treatment, case management, transportation, and supportive services to parents/caregivers who are referred due to current or suspected substance abuse. The CP-SAI staff is out-posted in DCP&P Local Offices and receives referrals from DCP&P workers for clients in need of a substance abuse assessment. Peer Recovery Support Services, PRSS, are to assist DCPP-involved parents/caregivers in developing skills and accessing the resources needed to initiate and maintain recovery by offering the benefit of shared life experiences and providing support.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirects the Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative and Peer Recovery Support Specialist Programs.
Provides overall supervision of program staff, students, volunteers, and program supervisors
May provide direct service activity as needed.
Coordinates program activities with appropriate liaison agencies to ensure constructive collaboration.
Develops and promotes relationships with other social service agencies and represents the program and agency in the community.
Performs administrative functions including the completion of regular monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner, as required by funding sources and CFS.
Serves on agency-wide committees.
Provides direct supervision to program supervisors and to assessment, counselor aide, and peers as needed
Documents all supervisory sessions in a timely manner with appropriate signatures
Oversees the administration of the above programs, including monitoring contracted levels of service, completion of required documentation and record maintenance.
Develops new program resources
Arranges contracted trainings for DCPP and CPSAI staff per contract requirements
Demonstrates basic crisis intervention skills needed to address situations as they arise, and notifies all appropriate personnel.
Appropriately and immediately uses agency channels in relation to clinical concerns or specific incidents.
Visits DCPP local offices once a month at minimum to foster relationships with CPSAI, PRSS and DCPP staff
