Position Summary

The ReWork Program is designed to help individuals who have a friend, family member, or personal history of opioid use. It provides program participants with career readiness skills training through individual counseling sessions and group facilitation workshops; as well as provide career placement assistance in order to prepare participants for today's job market. The Program Outreach & Retention Specialist will be responsible for conducting outreach, recruitment and retention of participants, planning special events and recognition activities, resource development, employment placement and the planning of ongoing activities to support clients and help them identify and reduce barriers and increase strategies to support them as successful employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop an annual outreach and recruitment plan, coordinated with the Program
  • Supervisor
  • Support program staff with consistent messaging and talking points to best communicate the
  • goals of the program
  • Manage and implement participant recruitment and outreach activities in partnership with staff,
  • and current and potential community partners;
  • Maintain statistics on participant recruitment efforts;
  • Maintain a process that ensures recruitment events lead to participant intakes;
  • Secure and plan presentations and representing program at events;
  • Disseminate program information in response to all participant and partner inquiries;
  • Lead outreach efforts and distribution of recruitment posters/flyers;
  • Work in partnership with other Center For Family Services programs to support and increase program participation
  • Draft program success stories and share across media channels;
  • Create and distribute various communications and publications to participants;
  • Attend meetings, trainings and conferences that contribute to personal development and the growth and improvement of the ReWork initiative
  • Interview and assess participant's overall social support/employability needs and make referrals
  • Supports clients in job searching and placement;
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients;
  • Establish ongoing relationships with employers/worksites in order to provide a continuous supply of applicants when requested as well as monitoring any potential problems, complaints and progress of recently placed participants;
  • Evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs;
  • Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce;
  • Match applicant skills and experience with employer's requirement;
  • Support individuals to secure and retain job and advance in work settings;
  • Supervise employment to ensure people attain success in job placement and career objectives;
  • Provide career counseling, skill training, job-readiness training, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job retention strategies and other activities within individual settings related to employment transition;
  • Assist individuals with job application and interview preparation processes;
  • Provide individual counseling to identify participants personal goals, develop leadership skills and develop individualized employment plan. Identify barriers to employment as well as solutions;
  • Engage in regular supervision meetings;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, could include some weekends and evenings
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution, or relevant experience in workforce
  • development.

  • Strong understanding of workforce development, particularly in job readiness training.
  • Case management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to various
  • diverse audience sizes.

  • Ability to multi-task. Excellent time management/organizational skills and verbal/written
  • communication skills.

  • Bilingual candidates preferred
