Position Summary:

This full time RN position is part of a program contracted with NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services to treat opioid addicted women during pregnancy and up to 12 weeks post partum. The RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the behavioral health outpatient setting. Maintains standards of Professional Nursing Practice. Participates as an interdisciplinary team member responsible for overall coordination of care and services delivered to consumers. Works collaboratively with members of the health care team to provide patient/family education. Demonstrates nursing knowledge commensurate with licensure scope of practice. Provide patient care services for patients under the direction of the qualified medical staff-reporting to a Nurse Practitioner as the RN's direct supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes and records vital signs including, but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, and waist circumference.
• Administers treatments, injections, and medications as ordered under the supervision of qualified medical staff.
• Maintains inventory of medications, syringes, and supplies.
• Helps patients improve their coping abilities and knowledge of treatment, medication, and healthy lifestyle.
• Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities & help them deal with family member's mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Collaborate with other medical providers, including medical specialists, for patients. Obtain Release of Information from Patient for the provider.
• Provide each patient care in a safe, comfortable, and private environment.
• Communicate in an attentive and individualized manner in every encounter.
• Provide preventive care information that matches patient age, sex and health status.
• Assists medical staff with completion of required medical forms, monitoring of laboratory requirements and results.
• Document care provided or procedures performed accurately on patient records in a timely manner.
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
• Communicates with non-medical staff such as social workers, professional counselors, billing and clerical staff to provide excellent patient care.
• Document work processes as required.
•  Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures including office and state protocols.
• Travel between three clinic sites in Warren County NJ (Phillipsburg, Hackettstown & Washington) as scheduled to ensure coverage.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of an accredited, certified RN program.
•  Current State of New Jersey RN licensure.
•  CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
• Current unencumbered valid Driver's License
• Minimum of two (2) years of professional nursing experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
