Position Summary:

Center For Family Services is seeking a responsible individual for the Residential Aide position within the Mother Child Residential Program. Mother Child provides temporary housing for women age 18 -35 who are currently homeless and either pregnant or parenting one to three children age eight and under. Services include emergency shelter for mothers and children, on-site counseling and case management and educational classes.  The Residential Aide interacts with and assists residents with life skills, answers and documents phone calls, provides professional treatment and care to residents,  and assists with ensuring the overall maintenance including cleaning, organizing, identifying maintenance concerns, and completing daily duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Residential Aide ensures the safety and security of Mother/Child Residential facilities by conducting regular checks and reporting any maintenance concerns, completes intake forms for potential residents and facilitates intakes for incoming residents, and maintains residential client files (including completing/filing incident reports).  This individual ensures residents follow program expectations and guidelines, imposes consequences to clients for not complying with the program guidelines, and assists all residents with the requirements needed to ensure their well-being.  The Residential Aide provides house meetings for residents, provides "in-home" support such as modeling parenting, working on conflict resolution and enhancing life skills, accompanies residents to the hospital if needed, and assists with on-call schedule as needed. The Residential Aide interacts with residents to ensure they have the tools they need to empower them toward self sufficiency.

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's or BA degree preferred
  • Experience working in a residential setting preferred
  • Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Current driver's license & good driving record of 3 years 
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
