Position Summary: 

The DVRT Coordinator is responsible for the management of volunteers and interns to provide 24-hour accompaniments and advocacy services to victims/survivors of domestic violence.   The DVRT Coordinator reports directly to the Program Supervisor. 

Location: Warren County, NJ and Camden County, NJ

Job Type/Status: Part-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compliant with funding source, contract and or program's Annex A

  • Complete required documentation within established timeframes per Federal, State, County, and agency regulations, policy and procedure.

  • Attend regularly scheduled supervisions, stakeholder meetings, community board meetings, and other programmatic meetings as needed.

  • Maintain a minimum quarterly telephone contact with members to determine how the client is doing and offer assistance where needed. 

  • Assist members in developing a service plan that identifies needed skills and services. 

  • Assist members in developing and carrying out their service plans by assisting them in accessing needed resources through recovery coaching including, but not limited to, assistance with phone and online communication, and face to face appointments. 

  • Assist Administrative Assistants and volunteers, as needed. Including but not limited to, routine office tasks, including answering telephones, front desk coverage, photocopying materials for the center as necessary. 

  • Assist members by providing educational work shop that address the need of the community. 

  • Assist individuals in a hospital setting who have experienced an overdose. 

  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director or the Program Coordinator when needed. 

  • Provide transportation for clients to recovery center, popup facility, and activities as needed.

  • Core Responsibilities for Job Role/Sector as a substance use intern/clinician:

  • Provide competent, direct clinical and case management services with adolescents, adults, and families affected by substance use through a variety of modalities such as individual, group, and family therapy as it pertains to substance use clients and families.

  • Position will serve as the Co-occurring (Medication Assisted Treatment) IOP Coordinator.

  • Position will carry an outpatient caseload at our Phillipsburg site.

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment appropriate to client's level of care recommendations and members presenting concerns regardless of race, gender, culture, or ethnicity.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records as per agency guidelines utilizing the electronic health record system.

  • Ability to learn and navigate the NJSAMS database system 

  • Develop, review, and maintain treatment plans that includes long term goals, short-term objectives, and interventions which include relapse prevention goals for substance use clients.

  • Provide case management services that include but not limited to accessing and utilizing community resources, completing documentation.

  • Participates in regular clinical supervision in accordance with the guidelines of his/her professional organization; take responsibility with maintaining professional license/certifications; obtain advanced license, participate in staff professional development trainings and workshops as mandated/required.

  • Utilize interventions based on systemic, behavioral and cognitive modalities of Collaboratively develop individual and family service plans and goals which are behaviorally specific with the family.

  • Conduct urine drug screens for substance use clients.

  • Coordinate with outside agencies such as Social Services, DCP&P, probation, and New Jersey State Parole. 

  • Complete reports to be submitted to DCP&P, the Court, the Prosecutor's Office, Probation, Parole and IDRC on a timely basis.

  • Be familiar with community resources including 12-step and other self-help 

  • groups, and refer clients as indicated.

  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.

  • Develop a transition plan with individuals/families to assist with termination and ensure linkage to ongoing support.

  • Willingness to participate and utilize clinical supervision to promote independent decision-making and enhance system collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (preferred) in related human services field

  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (or obtained within three months), CADC, or LCSW, LCADC, LPC. 

  • Knowledge, training and application of evidence-based treatment

  • Knowledge and application in the area of family systems and Trauma Informed Care

  • At least two years of lived experience with substance use and mental health.
