Position Summary:

CFS is seeking a full time experienced youth development specialist who is passionate about the social-emotional development of middle school aged youth. The Youth Development Specialist will be responsible, in collaboration with the Middle School Coordinator, for development and implementation of programming for general student support, parent engagement, and the Mentor and Leadership Group.

Location: Camden, NJ

Job Type/Status: Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure programmatic levels of service are achieved for student facing and family facing events, services, and supports.
• Maintain documentation and reporting standards in alignment with the SBYS manual.
• Develop and implement the Mentor and Leadership Group.
• Planned and implemented parent/caregiver engagement activities and events in compliance with grant requirements.
• Host and/or participate in required national awareness events.
• Maintain office hours and consistent presence in the SBYS drop-in center.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in social work or human services-related field.
• Experience working in collaboration with community and youth
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and protective factors
• Experience in facilitating groups and workshops
• Experience in using data to drive outcomes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to multitask, meet strict deadlines, and work under time pressure.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
• Access to reliable transportation
• Must pass a criminal background check prior to beginning employment with children.
