Position Summary:
Center for Family Services is seeking a full time Behavioral Health Assistant to act as a support to our Prescribers and Patients in our Outpatient Department in Absecon.
Location: Camden and Gloucester Counties, NJ
Job Type/Status: Full Time
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care support and case management to CFS Prescriber staff.
- Manage client medication inquiries and medical labs by researching client records and coordinating with CFS prescriber staff and primary care physicians in the community.
- Provide updated documentation and maintenance of client electronic records to ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and contractual requirements; pharmacy contact, medications, PCP, allergies, negative side effects, current medical conditions.
- Complete prior authorizations as needed for CFS Prescribers.
- Obtain Prior Authorizations for the SUD and BH programs for the counties of Gloucester and Camden Counties as needed.
- Handle scheduling and confirmation of substance use treatment and mental health treatment appointments and conduct outreach to patients who miss or cancel their appointments.
- Close cases as directed by Program Directors and Prescribers.
- Assist prescribers with the administering and documentation of client BMI's, vitals, and other requirements per NJ regulations.
- Refer, link, collaborate and coordinate with clients, CFS Prescribers, PCPs, and other medical specialists as directed by CFS Prescribers.
- Attend/facilitate community events to promote the IIC Program and establish connections with referral sources approximately 5 hrs./month. Document and consistently track the attendance to these events and the outcomes in Google Sheets, as directed by Program Director. Coordinate with Northern Region Leadership on a monthly basis, at minimum, to provide feedback on progress, challenges and opportunities.
- Be present to observe and process required urine drug screens with SUD clients 24 hours within scheduled appointments with the psychiatrist/APN.
- Offer administrative assistance to the Clinical Directors of Behavioral Health Outpatient and Substance Use Treatment Services as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working within a support capacity in a medical and/or behavioral health setting.
- Experience managing schedules and complex client cases.
- Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to complete work within mandated timeframes.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and works well within a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer skills in addition to electronic health system knowledge and utilization.
- Ability to collaborate with the team and be an active participant in the program.
- Ability to collaborate with referral sources in the community.
- A valid NJ driver's license.
