Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Substance Use and Peer Services, the License Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCADC) Supervisor is a critical, part-time (10 hours a week) in-person clinical supervisory position.
This position will oversee licensed Masters level staff (LACs/LSWs) seeking to attain their LCADC license and ADC Interns seeking to attain their CADC. Substance Use Services includes substance abuse treatment and substance use recovery programs. The ideal candidate has excellent professional and clinical judgement as well as supervisory experience. Both the NJ LCADC and CCS supervisory certification are required for this role. Candidates without these credentials will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of full-time agency clinical supervisory staff and the Senior Director of Substance Use and Peer Services, provides 8-10 hours of one-on-one and group supervision for substance use staff.
- Train and monitor interns in the 12 core functions of substance use counseling, including screening, intake, assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention.
- Provide clinical supervision in-person.
- Review and sign clinical notes and documents in web-based, clinical EHR, CareLogic, Monday-Friday.
- All CareLogic documents must be signed within 48 hours of receipt.
- Report any clinical issues to Senior Director of Substance Use and Peer Services.
- Sign off on staff CADC and/or LCADC licensure applications.
- Monitors case progress toward goal achievement.
- Practice sound clinical and administrative judgment and provide guidance to staff accordingly.
- Collaborate with Supervisorsfor staff evaluations and oversee implementation of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Plan.
- Periodic Travel is required.
- Maintain compliance with CFS staff training requirements.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Oversees staff working in treatment and recovery programs and signs staff notes in Carelogic
- Evaluates staff clinical skills on a regular basis, both formally and informally, and provides feedback to Director, when necessary;
- Participates in regularly scheduled department meetings and attends scheduled administrative /clinical meetings, when available;
- For self and staff, takes responsibility (encourages staff to take high level personal responsibility) for professional development, for meeting licensure requirements and for maintaining licensure.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of post-certification clinical experience in the substance use disorder field.
- Deep familiarity with ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria, New Jersey administrative codes (N.J.A.C. 13:34C), and evidence-based practices (CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
- N.J. Certification as Alcohol/Drug Counselor required
- Clinical Supervisors Certificate (CCS) required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite proficient).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
