Salary: $52,000 to $56,000 per year
Position Summary:
Center For Family Services is seeking a full-time, experienced professional who is passionate about creating successful reentry career pathways for justice-impacted individuals. The program equips participants with career-readiness skills through individualized case management, group workshops, and ongoing employment support. workshops; as well as providing career placement assistance to prepare participants for today's job market. The Case Manager/Employment Coach will help participants identify possible career paths, develop and improve their professional soft skills, and connect them to job openings and career opportunities by building relationships with local employers. This Program works closely with internal and external partners and will enroll at least 200 participants across seven southern New Jersey counties each grant period. The Case Manager/Employment Coach will support Center For Family Services' workforce development efforts through coordinating and supporting clear and viable pathways to success in the workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview and assess participants' eligibility for program enrollment.
- Provide wraparound case management to each participant, including but not limited to conducting orientation, 1:1 training, and group workshops, and completion of all required program and CFS-related paperwork.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients.
- Establishes ongoing relationships with employers/worksites to provide a continuous supply of applicants when requested, as well as monitoring any potential issues, complaints, and progress of recently placed participants.
- Coach and prepare candidates for interviews and entry into the workforce.
- Match applicant skills and experience with employer's requirements.
- Support individuals to secure and retain jobs and advancements in the workplace.
- Coordinate career counseling, evaluation, skill training, job-readiness training, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job retention strategies and other activities within individual settings related to employment transition. Identify barriers to employment and solutions to those barriers.
- Provide individualized case management to identify participants' personal goals, develop leadership skills, and develop an individualized employment plan.
- Complete essential documentation required for successful administrative purposes and record case materials promptly and effectively using the indicated file development methods.
- Develop/ maintain community partnerships with local agencies to provide additional services/resources for clients in need.
- Maintain contact with clients to ensure case management requirements are met, and client remains active and within program compliance.
- Facilitate group sessions and workshops to build employment readiness skills, to include resume development, teamwork, conflict resolution, etc.
- Coordinate/attend career/resource fairs and tabling events as program demand allows, as applicable, to continuously source program referrals.
- Work closely with other CFS programs, departments, as well as NJ Department of Labor, Department of Corrections, Probation/parole offices, and county courts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs deemed to be reasonable and necessary.
- Maintain a complete and detailed calendar with the ability to effectively schedule client interactions as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in vocational counseling or social work, or related field; commensurate experience in relevant field may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Certificate programs in Career or Life Coaching preferred.
- Experience working with justice-impacted individuals preferred.
- Experience working with second-chance employers.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in workforce development with job placement experience strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in close-contact case management
- Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus.
- Current driver's license & a good driving record of 3 years.
- Vehicle with current insurance and registration.
- Ability to travel within all seven counties to provide case management to clients.
- Ability to maintain accurate and compliant client files across designated systems.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage client caseloads in different counties.
