Position Summary:

Center for Family Services is seeking an energetic, outgoing, compassionate person to fill the Family Partner/Life Skills Wraparound Worker position with our Family Success Center in East Orange.  Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where community residents can go for family support, information, and services. Family Success Centers serve families in safe and supportive home-like environments designed to strengthen the family unit, build relationships, enrich the lives of community members, and make families and neighborhoods stronger.  The Family Partner/life skills worker is a crucial member of the program and should love working with people and the community to help bridge the gap!  This is a full time position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Family Partner/life skills wraparound worker  is friendly, confident, compassionate and capable and has experience in customer service and in working with diverse populations. They treat colleague and family members as individuals with respect and dignity as they provide direct social services to the families at the Family Success Centers including:

• Performing assessments with families that come to the Family Success Center.
• Making monthly follow up phone calls monthly to families
• Linking families to supportive services that help stabilize the home.
• Scheduling at least two workshops and classes monthly with community and faith based organizations to provide supportive services.
• Working with the Family Success Center Director to plan and implement community events to increase the number of families involved in the center.
• Working with the FSC staff and Family Partner to identify and recruit parent volunteers
• Responsible for reviewing requests and obtaining all documentation.
• Making approvals of requests and forwards checks to the requesting provider or payee.
• Ensuring all documentation is received.
• After all documentation is received, ensuring all requests for wraparound support funds will be dispersed within three to five business days from the date the request was received.
• Monitoring the spending allowance for each youth.
• Linking participants to supportive services.
• Completing program reports in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required
• At least two years' experience working with at risk families and youth
• Loves working with people and in the community to help bridge the gap
• Must be available nights and weekends
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Current driver's license with a good driving record of at least three years
• Vehicle with current insurance and registration
