Position Summary:

The Recruiter/Trainer recruits and trains prospective community shelter home parents. Expected to work nights and weekends and remain available via cell phone to meet the needs of assigned families. 

Location: Egg Harbor Township, NJ

Job Type/Status: Part Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates an awareness and acceptance of various family structures, cultural perspectives and religious beliefs to all clients, families and staff as evidenced by client satisfaction surveys, team meetings, case discussions, feedback from consumers and individual supervision. 
  • All required programmatic paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately within specific timeframes as designated by program design. 
  • Attends all required staff meetings, program and Center For Family Services activities. Reports any suspected child/elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey's guidelines 
  • Conducts self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues and funding sources in accordance with Center For Family Services' Code of Ethics and Residential Boundaries and Guidelines  
  • Contributes to the overall development of the Agency. 
  • Implements a Marketing plan for the Shelter Care Program and attend community events in an effort to recruit shelter home parents. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the application process for each potential home to include: screening all candidates, conducting initial interviews and follow up meetings. 
  • Coordinates and conducts pre-service and in-service training for shelter care parents to ensure all homes meet the required training hours mandated. 
  • Conducts home studies and maintain records on shelter care parents and prospective parent applicants. 
  • Assists shelter care parents in maintaining the appropriate licensing through the Office of Licensing. 
  • Provides individual and group skills assessment for all shelter care parents. 
  • Assists Case Managers with case management plans for each shelter care home assigned to their caseload. 
  • Attends all meetings and training sessions required to perform recruitment, training and case management of shelter care parents. 
  • Attends training as needed & / or required to improve and maintain training skills. 
  • Completes written reports as required. 
  • Meets with the Program Director and Case Management Supervisor regularly to discuss time structuring and potential homes for case planning. 
  • Reviews progress in professional development and growth objectives periodically with supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters in Social Work or other related field 
  • At least 3 years' experience working with adolescents and families
