Position Summary 

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and activities within an adolescent residential facility. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to program guidelines. The Supervisor collaborates closely with staff members and members of the treatment team, to create a nurturing environment conducive to the youth's growth and development, in addition to oversight of administrative tasks, staff scheduling, monitoring overtime and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to empowering and advocating for youth in need of support and guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of program.
  • Completes Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly reports``Qumber
  • Supervise milieu staff and schedules,
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with program staff
  • Ensures the continuing training and development of program staff.
  • Engages in documented supervision for all residential counselors, consistent with stated goals and objectives
  • Reports to and serves on the multidisciplinary treatment team and attends all treatment team meetings
  • Attend monthly staff meetings & attend regular Residential Director's meetings
  • Ensures that 24x7 staffing and program structure is consistent with the stated goals and objectives
  • Instructs, guides and counsels staff and youth informally throughout their interactions in day-to-day activities
  • Assists youth in completing goals as set forth in their treatment plans
  • Assist youth in daily life skills, education and chores in program.
  • Coordinate daily school communication
  • Coordinates transportation to and from appointments
  • Substitutes in ratio in the event of residential counselor absence
  • Ensures that the physical site of the program is clean and orderly, as set forth in the policy and procedures
  • Conducts employee evaluations annually

    Qualifications

    • Are 18 years of age or older

    • Have a current non-provisional drivers license in good standing

    • Minimum High School Diploma or BA with 3-5 years of supervisory experience w/ no less than 4 years of experience in human services field

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    • Have physical assets including balance, coordination and the ability to get up and down on both knees unassisted.
    • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
    • Capability to navigate staircases, uneven terrain, and other physical environments encountered during community visits.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods during documentation tasks, group meetings, and administrative tasks.
    • Physical endurance to handle a mix of office and community-based activities during the workday.
    • Ability to assist youth with daily activities that involve physical movement and participate in group recreational or therapeutic activities.
    • Ability to travel to various locations, including family homes, community organizations, and program sites.
    • Be comfortable working in various residential settings, including shared spaces and therapy rooms.
    • Provide assistance in the use of adaptive equipment & assistive devices for youth with specific needs.
    • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment with precision.
    • Visual acuity to review documents, input data, and perform detailed tasks.
    • Adequate hearing and speech capabilities to engage in conversations, presentations, and phone communication clearly and effectively.
    • May be exposed to various smells and odors and may interact with individuals who may not adhere to standards of personal hygiene.
    • Ability to meet and fulfill all physical requirements of Handle with Care Training.
