Salary: $49,140 per year
Position Summary:
Center For Family Services Workforce Development partners with public/private organizations to provide access to wraparound social services, support linkages, job readiness skills, and career exploration. The Cape May County Out of School Youth Program Coordinator will manage the program's daily operations, including staff management, member engagement and recruitment, partner engagement, and administrative oversight. To accomplish these tasks, the Coordinator will work closely with external community partners and internal programs at the Center For Family Services. The program provides participants with a life-skills curriculum focused on job readiness and tailored to the areas that Cape May County employers have identified as most important.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruiting eligible out-of-school youth through community outreach, referrals, and networking.
- Evaluate participants' academic skill levels to identify learning needs, measure progress, and target areas requiring improvement.
- Facilitate academic remediation activities in individual and group settings to assist participants in improving basic academic skills, increasing assessment scores, and achieving educational and career goals.
- Assist with résumé development, job applications, interview preparation, and job-search strategies.
- Conduct workshops on job readiness, workplace skills, and financial literacy.
- Provide one-on-one career coaching and supportive case management.
- Coach participants on workplace expectations and prepare them for successful interviews and workforce entry.
- Assist with identifying and building partnerships with community organizations to connect participants with additional resources and supportive services.
- Build relationships with local employers and identify job placement opportunities.
- Assist with coordinating employer presentations, community outreach events, and job fairs.
- Monitor participant progress and revise service plans as needed.
- Maintain regular contact with participants to encourage engagement and retention.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes, participant records, and data entry in the agency's AWARDS system.
- Provide ongoing job retention support after placement.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Two or more years of experience in workforce development, case management, employment services, youth services, or a related field.
- Knowledge of workforce development programs, employment resources, and career pathways.
- Experience working with young adults facing barriers to employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work closely with diverse populations.
- Experience facilitating workshops and group presentations.
- Ability to motivate participants toward achieving employment and educational goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Understanding of WIOA Youth Program requirements preferred.
