Guiding Hope - Relief Residential Counselor - Trenton, NJ

Center For Family Services is seeking experienced and professional Residential Counselors to join our Guiding Hope Program. These positions requires patience, dedication, understanding, and compassion. These positions requires carrying out direct service activities pertinent to the goals of the program 

Location: Trenton, New Jersey

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Residential Counselors co-lead groups with therapists and counselors and ensure that program structure is consistent with stated goals and objectives. The Residential Counselor supervises programs for youth while ensuring structure within the programs. They ensure that daily living needs are met. These are Relief positions.


  • High School or equivalent required but a 4 year college degree is preferred
  • At least 3 years' experience working with youth required
  • Must be available for day, evening, weekends, and holidays
  • Must complete mandatory training for Residential Programs
  • Must successfully complete criminal background checks and drug testing
  • Current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration 

The position you are accepting is a temporary position that will exist in a program/physical building that will have non-symptomatic, symptomatic and COVID 19 positive clients.   The goal of this special temporary program is to provide supportive and clinical services to vulnerable populations.  It will be important that all staff follow CDC's guidelines for self-care and the protective measures identified by CDC when working during the COVID 19 pandemic."

All positions require pre-employment drug screening and criminal record checks. Many positions require motor vehicle record evaluations and medical clearances. Center For Family Services is
