$3000 Full Time and, for LCSW, LCADC, RN, LPC, LMFT, 

$1500 Full Time, for LSW, LPN, LAC, LAMFT

Position Summary:

The Counselor is responsible for providing individual and group counseling services to victims/survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence and/or human trafficking trauma and to their support persons. The counselor reports directly to the Outreach Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to adolescent (12 years ) and adult to victims/survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence and/or human trafficking trauma and to their support persons
  • Create individualized treatment plans with clients
  • Provide clients with up-to-date case-related medical and legal information and appropriate referrals as needed
  • Attend and engage in case consultations with other team members and education to other area professionals
  • Attend program/agency, community, county and state meetings
  • Maintain client files and documentation in a timely manner in the EHS-database according to agency, state, and federal guidelines
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics and complete narrative reports
  • Collaborate with other SERV staff, including Advocates and Case Managers to ensure comprehensive services are provided to clients
  • Administer and collect program evaluations
  • Assist with other office procedures pertinent to the operation of the program

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a certificate in New Jersey State Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate (CSVA), Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) and Anti-Human Trafficking training provided by Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV). The Counselor must have prior training or experience with empirically support treatments for trauma, such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and/or Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This position must demonstrate cultural humility and a strengths-based, recovery philosophy. Excellent organizational skills and strong personal skills. They must demonstrate sensitivity toward the needs of the individuals we serve. Effective verbal and written communication skills and public speaking is required. Prior experience providing advocacy and/or case management is preferred. This position requires a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field. A New Jersey State license in psychology, counseling, or social work is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
