Clinician - Hospital Based Violence Intervention (4411)

Position Summary:

Center for Family Services' Survivors of Gun Violence and Homicide Loss works within a trauma-informed hope-centered framework that creates an environment whose daily practices promote the well-being of both staff and those we serve. This service built within a continuum of CFS' violence prevention, intervention, and recovery services and in partnership with a local hospital creates a pathway to bring counseling and support services to victims of gun violence receiving care within a hospital setting and post-hospital stay

Location: Camden, NJ (also required bed side visits at Cooper Hospital)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and provides cultural humility in client care and staff interactions that respond respectfully to the strengths and skills of diverse ethnicities and cultures, languages, socio-economic classes, disabilities, religions, genders, sexual orientation, and other diversity-related factors.
  •  Clinical assessment of clients.
  • Administration and scoring of standardized assessment tools if applicable.
  • In collaboration with the client, develop a service plan that is hope-centered and includes long-term goals, short-term objectives, and interventions. Service plans are reviewed with the client to assess progress.
  • Provide clinical services using the modalities of individual, group, and psycho-education
  • Adhere to goals, methods, and interventions specific to trauma counseling including a clinical care coordination approach.
  • Adhere to program guidelines and practices
  • Facilitates coordination of services among various agencies, and advocates for and links clients to needed services.
  • Complete documentation and other reporting requirements as per Center For Family Services standards and per grant.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision by the guidelines of their professional organization.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, case conference meetings, and agency-wide meetings.
  • Participate in staff training that may include TF-CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Psychological First Aid, and other trauma-specific interventions.
  • Perform specialized activities and functions specific to the program. See Program-Specific Responsibilities
  • Adhere to CFS and COA policies and procedures.
  • Complete the Level of Service as identified in the current grants and contracts
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • NJ Licensed: LSW, LAC, MFT, LCSW, LPC, LPAT required.  
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences
  • Ability to connect with people of varying backgrounds, appreciate and embrace diversity, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and a strengths-based, recovery philosophy.
  • Ability to work independently combined with the ability to be a team player.
  • Clearly communicate ideas in both written and verbal form
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and in a hybrid environment, office, telehealth, and hospital setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Complete training in TF-CBT and other trauma-specific interventions- (The Agency provides training opportunities)
  • Valid driver's license in the state of his/her residence, insurance, and clean driving record
