POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinician plays a pivotal role in our dynamic residential treatment center, providing therapeutic services to individuals within a supportive and therapeutic environment. As a compassionate and skilled professional, the therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions that contribute to the overall well-being and recovery of clients. This position requires a commitment to client-centered care, adherence to ethical standards, and the ability to thrive in a challenging yet rewarding setting.

Job Type/Status: Full-Time


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with funding source, contract, and or program's Annex A.

  • Complete required documentation within established timeframes per Federal, State, County, and agency regulations, policy, and procedure.

  • Core Responsibilities for Job Role/Sector:

  • Individualized Therapy: 

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities to address the unique needs of each youth. Tailor interventions to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping mechanisms.

  • Treatment Planning: 

  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Regularly assess and update plans based on the evolving needs and progress of each youth.

  • Group Facilitation: 

  • Lead and participate in therapeutic group sessions to address common themes and provide a supportive forum for youths to share experiences, learn from one another, and develop crucial social skills.

  • Family Engagement: 

  • Work closely with families and caregivers to involve them in the therapeutic process. Provide family therapy sessions, offer support, and facilitate communication to strengthen the overall support system for the youth.

  • Crisis Intervention (On-Call): 

  • Be available for on-call responsibilities to respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of youth during non-business hours.

  • Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Maintain open communication with the multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and support staff, to coordinate care and address the holistic needs of each youth.

  • Documentation: 

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of individual and group therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements.

  • Education and Support: 

  • Provide psychoeducation to youths, families, and staff regarding mental health issues, coping strategies, and overall well-being. Offer guidance and support to ensure a therapeutic and healing environment.


REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field and a license to practice independently in NJ including LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, PhD. 

OR

  • Master's level therapist licensed to practice in NJ including LSW and LAC under the on-site supervision of a NJ independently licensed therapist with a documented plan to achieve independent clinical licensure within 3 years.
