Position Summary: Responsible for the direction,
provision and quality of substance abuse counseling services for Pathways
to Recovery for Adults and Adolescent and Family First Programs
Location: Camden and Gloucester County
Job Type/Status: Full Time
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides
clinical supervision of program staff, students and volunteers.
- May
provide direct service activity as needed.
- Assures
the continuing training and development of program staff.
- Regularly
schedules meetings with program staff to discuss plans, address areas of
potential problems and program functioning.
- Conducts
employee evaluations annually in accordance with Center For Family
Services' policies and procedures
- Treats
colleagues and students as individuals with respect and dignity.
- Attends
all required staff meetings, program and Center for Family Services
activities.
- Meets
regularly with supervisor.
- Discusses
family and staff issues, when necessary, only with designated appropriate
staff.
- Reports
any suspected child/elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey's guidelines
- Conducts
self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues and funding
sources in accordance with Center for Family Services' Code of Ethics.
- Develops
and promotes relationships with other social service agencies and
represents the program and agency in the community.
- Participates
in the effective maintenance of written objectives, policies and
procedures, an organizational plan and a quality assurance program
for the clinical components of substance abuse services that are
consistent with the CFS mission
- Assists
the AVP in the planning of operational functions and quality of services
and provides clinical oversight to ensure they are properly implemented by
clinical staff
- Directs
the selection, hiring, evaluation and promotion of all clinical staff
- Directs
the establishment and maintenance of liaison relationships and
communication with staff, service providers, community resources and
clients
- Identifies
priority populations for admission and treatment or referral as
appropriate according to protocol, policies and procedures
- Ensures
that assessments and intakes with clients are conducted in accordance with
policies and procedures in a clinically appropriate manner
- Ensures
approaches to treatment are evidence based or based on objective
information consistent with recognized treatment principles and practices
for each level of care and type of client served
- Provides
or ensures and documents that direct clinical supervision is provided at
least one hour per week to all clinical staff, individually or in a group
setting with group supervision not to exceed 50 percent of supervision
time
- Ensures
that substance abuse counseling services are provided as specified in the
client treatment plan and coordinated with other client care services, if
applicable, to provide continuity of care
- Ensures
that the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients with co-occurring
disorders is provided by appropriately trained and qualified clinical
staff, and that the clinical supervision of such staff is provided
- Directs
the provision of staff education activities and provides consultation to
program personnel
- Provides
orientation to and evaluation of new counseling staff
- Ensures
counseling staff are appropriately licensed or credentialed
- Participates
in the identification of quality care indicators and outcome objectives
and the collection and review of data to monitor staff and program
performance
- Participates
in the planning and budgeting for the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters
in Social Work, Counseling or related, licensable field.
- Two
years minimum of full-time or full-time equivalent, administrative or
supervisory experience in a substance abuse treatment facility
- Maintains
CPR certifications, as required licensure
- Must
have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of his/her
residence if job is classified as Occasional or Essential driving
- Must
have and maintain automobile insurance if driving a personal vehicle
- Licensable
Master's Degree or higher meeting the requirements of 10:161B, 1.8, a,
with appropriate supervision certificate if also in possession of LCADC or
CCS if not in possession of LCADC

Ability to give and carry out written and oral directions for increasingly
complex situations.
- Negotiates,
persuades, and modifies opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of
Center for Family Services.
- Ability
to complete basic mathematical operations and use them to calculate
figures such as percentages and means for the analysis of reports
- Proficient
in the use of Microsoft Office applications and responds to email in a
professional manner
- Ability
to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy,
attention to detail, and follow-through
- Ability
to exercise judgment and discretion in the prioritizing of workload and
inclusion of supervisor in staff and programmatic decisions
- Must
be able to travel to different Center for Family Services' building sites.
- Must
pass and maintain compliance with CFS Motor Vehicle Report.
- Must
maintain automobile insurance coverage if driving a personal vehicle.
- Pass a
physical examination, TB screening, rubella/rubella titer as required
licensing agent
