Salary: 45,000 per year

Position Summary:

This position requires staff to integrate parent and family engagement strategies into all systems and program services to support family well-being and promote children's learning and development. This position requires knowledge of ERSEA (eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, attendance). Participates in on-going recruitment process. As well as track, monitor, and support children's attendance. This position also assists with the completion of the child health requirements and other required screenings and assessments. This position supports the larger system of social services coordinated by Head Start, thereby supporting the goals of the program.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Recruits prospective parents and assists with the enrollment process.
    • Promotes and provides culturally competent client care and staff interactions that respond respectfully to the strengths and skills of diverse ethnicities and cultures, languages, socio-economic classes, disabilities, religions, genders, sexual orientation and other diversity related factors.
    • Coordinates with center staff to promote parent engagement, such as opportunities to volunteer, Policy Council, and parent committee meetings.
    • Introduces and supports families with completing the family needs assessment and family partnership agreement/goal setting.
    • Assists with the completion of the child health screening, and other required screens and assessments and refers children and/or families as needed.
    • Provides health, safety, family literacy activities to parents, as appropriate.
    • Consistently shares information with teachers, Site Supervisors, and members of the management team to ensure coordinated services that meet the needs of individual children and families.
    • Conducts and documents follow up on all referrals.
    • Develop a working knowledge of community resources.
    • Attends all required staff meetings, trainings, recruitment events and Center for Family Services activities as assigned by Supervisor.

    Requirements:

    • BA in Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work
    • Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications
    • Current driver's license with an excellent driving record of at least three years
    • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
