Location: Voorhees, NJ

Job Type/Status: Full Time (After-hours and on-call response required)

Salary: $22 to $25 per hour

Position Summary

The Facilities Technician supports the daily maintenance and operational needs of Center for Family Services (CFS) buildings. This role performs hands-on repairs, responds to work orders, assists with facility inspections, and helps ensure that all sites remain safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Facilities Technician works closely with the Facilities team, program staff, and external vendors to maintain high-quality environments for staff and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs

• Complete assigned work orders promptly and accurately
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities and scheduled inspections
• Identify facility issues and report them to the Facilities leadership team

Facility Operations

• Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure buildings are clean, safe, and operational
• Support compliance with ADA, OSHA, fire safety, and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and equipment usage
• Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, supplies, and facility equipment

Vendor & Contractor Support

• Assist with vendor coordination by preparing sites, providing access, and communicating needs
• Monitor vendor work on-site to ensure quality and safety standards are met

Logistics & Site Support

• Help move equipment, furniture, and supplies between agency locations
• Assist with setting up new sites and preparing spaces for program needs
• Support snow removal, landscaping tasks, and seasonal facility needs
• Participate in after-hours emergency response on a rotating basis

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience in building maintenance, trades, or related work

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to follow safety procedures and facility protocols
• Proficiency with mobile work order systems

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work in various physical positions
• Ability to travel between multiple CFS sites
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Must pass required background checks and drug screening.
