Bilingual Shelter Home Recruiter EHT

The Recruiter/Trainer develops and implements a comprehensive communications/marketing plan designed to recruit, onboard, train, and support community shelter home parents. Expected to show flexibility in working nights and weekends and be available to assist shelter home families in gaining licensing approval.

Locations: Egg Harbor Township, NJ

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates an awareness and acceptance of various family structures, cultural perspectives and religious beliefs to all clients
  • All required programmatic paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately within specific time frames as designated by program design.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, program and Center For Family Services activities.
  • Reports any suspected child / elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey's guidelines
  • Conduct self as a role model while interacting with staff, colleagues and funding sources in accordance with Center For Family Services' Code of Ethics, Residential Boundaries and Guidelines
  • Contributes to the overall development of the Agency.


  • Develops and implements comprehensive communications/marketing plan, recruitment / on-boarding plan, and support/recognition plan for shelter home parents
  • Works with public relations team to develop and implement shelter home parent marketing and communications plan designed to achieve objectives
  • Develops advertising plan to recruit shelter home parents
  • Presents on behalf of Center For Family Services with a focus on shelter home recruitment
  • Attends meetings and events and proactively schedules meetings and speaking engagements to increase visibility to recruit shelter home parents
  • Coordinates and tracks attendance at shelter parent outreach events
  • Establishes relationships with external constituents to increase awareness about the need for shelter home parents
  • Conduct phone screenings, interviews, reference checks and background screenings
  • Responsible for overseeing the application process for each potential home to include: screening all candidates, conducting initial      interviews and follow up meetings
  • Develops engagement plan with all shelter home parents as they await licensing
  • Facilitate timely on-boarding of shelter home parents with progress-tracking
  • Coordinates and conducts pre-service and in-service training for shelter care parents to ensure all homes meet the required training hours mandated
  • Conducts home studies and maintain records on shelter care parents and prospective parent applicants
  • Keeps regular records of calls, visits, and targets to on board the homes
  • Assists shelter care parents in maintaining the appropriate licensing through the Office of Licensing
  • Provides individual and group skills assessment for all shelter care parents
  • Provides ongoing support and recognition of all shelter home parents
  • Completes written reports as required
  • Meets with the Program Director and Case Management Supervisor regularly to discuss time structuring and potential homes for case planning
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Current driver's license with an good driving record of at least three years
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
