POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality HR services that support a positive and inclusive employee experience. This professional-level role is responsible for providing support across a range of HR functions—including benefits, leave administration, onboarding, compliance, and HR systems—while also helping to improve and streamline internal processes and manage HR projects. The HR Generalist plays an integral role in ensuring employees receive timely, accurate, and thoughtful support throughout their employment journey.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for
employee questions related to benefits, leaves of absence, and general HR
policies, ensuring accurate guidance and timely resolution.

Partner with the Benefits team on administration
of health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs; oversee COBRA
billing related to leaves of absence.

Coordinate onboarding activities in partnership
with the Onboarding team, ensuring a welcoming and compliant start-to-work
experience for new hires.
?
Maintain accurate employee data and
documentation to ensure regulatory and internal compliance, including support
for licensing and credentialing processes.
?
Manage and respond to employee inquiries via the
HR ticketing system and shared mailbox, using sound judgment to resolve or
escalate issues as needed.

Provide operational and project-based support to
HR leadership on initiatives related to compliance, employee engagement,
performance management, process improvement, and reporting.
? Serve as a system administrator for the HRIS platform: maintain data integrity, generate reports, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve HR technology use.
Qualifications:
?
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business
Administration, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience.
?
2–4 years of experience in a Human Resources
role, ideally within a nonprofit or service-oriented organization.
?
Proficiency with HRIS systems and comfort
working with employee data and reporting tools.
?
Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information professionally and
build trust across teams.

Ability to balance attention to detail with
responsiveness and a service-oriented mindset.
? Familiarity with employment laws, benefit regulations, and leave policies is a plus.

This position operates in a professional office
environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,
phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
?
The role may require remaining in a stationary position
(seated or standing) for extended periods.
?
Occasionally moves about the office to access files,
supplies, and office equipment.
?
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times (e.g.,
onboarding materials, office supplies).
?
May occasionally travel to other agency locations or
offsite meetings within the region.
? This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday; occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
