TANF Initiative for Parents (TIP) Full-time Bilingual Administrative Assistant - Cherry Hill, NJ

Center for Family Services is seeking a reliable, friendly and organized individual to join our TIP Program as the Administrative Assistant-Bilingual. The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative duties/services, acts as secretary to Program Coordinator, and may perform specialized activities and functions.

Location: Cherry Hill, New Jersey 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers phones and greets guests and clients in a professional, friendly manner
  • Performs specialized activities and functions specific to the program such as assisting clients with resumes, online job/housing searches, etc.
  • Completes data entry and other reporting requirements
  • Meets regularly with supervisor, and participates in other continuing professional development opportunities
  • Contributes on Agency special tasks, and promotes a sense of agency with co-workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates maturity and experience in successfully working with children and families
  • Able to read, communicate and write in English and Spanish
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with TANF population and reporting procedures, and knowledge of economic literacy and job search skills preferred

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes a trusting relationships with at-promise families by initiating and maintaining respect and cultural sensitivity
  • Assists clients with resume writing and job search activities
  • Demonstrates motivation to familiarize self with parent-child interaction and child development materials, and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect. Demonstrates skill in utilizing these resources.
  •  Assists parent in making and attending appointments for doctors, social service agencies, etc. Acts as a liaison between families and community agencies
  • Familiarizes self with community resources appropriate to needs of clients
  • Meets with supervisor bi-weekly
  • Attends regular staff meetings, case conferences, in-service trainings, and other meetings as required
  • Demonstrates competence in written English and Spanish. Records attendance and workshop topics
  • Familiarizes self with program and agency policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned i.e. facility maintenance and organization, maintaining supplies, etc.

All positions require pre-employment drug screening and criminal record checks. Many positions require motor vehicle record evaluations and medical clearances.
