Position Summary:

Stepping Stones to Resiliency provides effective trauma-based approaches to children and teens who have been impacted by family substance use. The primary goal of the program is to support children and youth who are impacted by family substance use/abuse by creating safe environments and programming that foster a sense of peace, safety, and healing from a range of reactions. The primary services include individual and group counseling, in-home short-term post-traumatic grief services, recovery and resiliency groups, and community workshops.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to goals, methods, and interventions specific to trauma-specific interventions.
  • Provide Access Center with schedule and opening slots for new clients
  • Provide assessments, and individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions.
  • Facilitate Celebrating Families psycho-educational groups for parents impacted by family substance use.
  • Connect youth to mentoring services.
  • Provide Classroom-community-Culture Based Intervention at schools, substance abuse treatment, and recovery programs, faith-based organizations, or community centers
  • Provide training and community workshops on grief and traumatic loss 
  • Promotes and provides cultural humility in client care and staff interactions that respond respectfully to the strengths and skills of diverse ethnicities and cultures, languages, socio-economic classes, disabilities, religions, genders, sexual orientation, and other diversity-related factors.
  • Clinical assessment of clients.
  • Administration and scoring of standardized assessment tools if applicable.
  • In collaboration with the client, develop a service plan that is hope-centered and includes long-term goals, short-term objectives, and interventions. Treatment plans are reviewed with the client to assess progress.
  • Provide clinical services using the modalities of individual, group, and family counseling and psycho-education
  • Complete documentation and other reporting requirements as per Center For Family Services standards and per grant.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision in accordance with the guidelines of their professional organization.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, case conference meetings, and agency-wide meetings.
  • Participate in staff training that may include TF-CBT, Celebrating Families, and other trauma-specific interventions.
  • Perform specialized activities and functions specific to the program. See Program-Specific Responsibilities
  • Adhere to CFS and COA policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • MSW, or MA in a related human services field
  • Licensed: LSW, LAC, MFT, LCSW, LPC required.
  • At least three years of experience working with children and teens
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling
  • Experience working in grief and traumatic loss
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences
  • Ability to connect with people of varying backgrounds, appreciate and embrace diversity, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and a strengths-based, recovery philosophy.
  • Ability to work independently combined with the ability to be a team player.
  • Clearly communicate ideas in both written and verbal form
  • Strong documentation skills, ability to set priorities, and follow-up.
  • Willing to work in a flexible schedule and hybrid environment, office, telehealth, school and community settings.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Complete training in TF-CBT and CBI - (The Agency provides training opportunities)
  • Valid driver's license in the state of his/her residence, insurance, and clean driving record
