POSITION SUMMARY:The Licensed Clinician serves as a responder during calls for service that include individuals who are experiencing a mental health or behavioral health crisis, or addiction/substance use disorder, in an effort to better meet the needs of people impacted by domestic violence, other crimes, opioid use, and mental health issues. Must possess strong crisis intervention skills and have firm knowledge of reporting laws. Must be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Must be able to work independently and maintain flexibility. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends. Computer literacy and ability to utilize related software applications. Position must hold a professional mental health counseling licensure in the State of New Jersey (LPC or LCSW). Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred.
Responsibilities
Respond to calls within 15 minutes, arrive on scene of a crisis within one hour.
Provide initial assessments of individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis, assistning peer specialist and counselor in recommending appropriate interventions.
Support citizens with: substance use disorder treatment access, crisis intervention, mental health and psychological assistance, court advocacy for victims and witnesses of crimes, mediation, and welfare checks with police officers as needed.
Assist individuals in connecting to: domestic violence intervention programming, drug and alcohol recovery programming, crisis intervention referrals, school resources, and other mental health resources as needed.
Administration and scoring of standardized assessment tools if applicable
In collaboration with the client, develop a service plan that includes long term goals, short term objectives, and interventions.
Provide clinical services using the modalities of individual, group, family counseling and psycho-education.
Complete documentation and other reporting requirements within program/payer specific requirements.
Coordinate with and make referrals to network of homeless shelters and homeless prevention and diversion services including the Navigation Team.
Coordinate with County Homeless Services Coordinator and other entities when planning for homeless encampment clean-ups.
Perform other specialized activities and functions specific to program.
Participate in regular clinical supervision in accordance with the guidelines of his/her professional organization: Monthly (1.5 hours) for LCSW, LPC, MFT; Bi-weekly (3 hours) for Master's Degree level.
Adhere to Camden Coalition for Inclusive Communities plan.
Adhere to COA policies and procedures of program.
Adhere to policies and procedures of CFS.
Other duties as required.
Physical Demands:
Travel to different Center For Family Services' building sites and off-site locations
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling and/or Psychology
Licensed or license eligible
At least 3 years previous experience working with families/adults in crisis.
Experience working with individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, child abuse, or other crisis/trauma required. Prior experience working with people in crisis, and police department preferred.
Experience with trauma informed therapy and practices.
Ability to clearly communicate ideas in both written and verbal form.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, execute sound judgment, and implement crisis intervention techniques when needed.
Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Possess a valid driver's license in the state of his/her residence, insurance, and clean driving record.
