Position Summary:

Center For Family Services is seeking an Academic Support Instructor to provide instructional support and tutoring services at the Wiggins Center located in Camden, New Jersey. The Academic Support Instructor will work to assist students with completion of daily homework assignments and school projects. The Instructor will review content with students, explaining how to solve problems and checking completed work. The Instructor will work with students one-on-one or in a group setting to support them with developing study skills and organization techniques to help them improve their academic performance. The Academic Support Instructor will provide College and Career Readiness support services to students through assisting them with exploring post-secondary options, navigating applications, personal statements, and applying for scholarship opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist students with completion of daily homework assignments and school projects
• Assist students with developing study skills and organization techniques
• Provide tutoring support services to students one-on-one or in a group setting
• Provide enrichment activities that align with program goals
• Keep record of attendance and individual academic progress
• Provide a safe, supportive, educational environment for participants

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
• Valid New Jersey Instructional (Teacher) Certificate
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Exceptional classroom management skills / ability to multi-task
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• High energy and enthusiastic, with a strong belief that young people can succeed
