Guiding Hope - Relief Registered Nurse - Trenton, NJ

Center For Family Services is seeking an experienced medical professional for the Registered Nurse positions for its Guiding Hope Program. This is a full time position in a quickly growing organization that positively influences children and teens. The Nurse is responsible for providing the utmost care by ensuring the health and safety of all youth in the program.  The Registered Nurse prepares and implements a comprehensive health plan to ensure that each resident's medical, dental and other health needs are being met adequately and properly. We have a Part Time and Relief Positions available.

Location: Trenton, NJ

 Duties and Responsibilities:

The Nurse serves on the treatment team with therapists, counselors and staff and provides life skills education in health related topics. The Nurse provides individual counseling, ensures that all requirements for documentation are adhered to and coordinates appointments with medical and psychiatric consultants. This individual provides oversight of administration of medication by Support Coaches, explains medications to residents and staff, and ensures all supplies and medications are on hand and correctly administered.  The Nurse communicates productively with employees and maintains a "teamwork" approach.  This individual ensures physical examination, treatment or referral of all emergent health concerns of residents, completes Medication Logs, administers appropriate medications when authorized by a physician  and disposes of old medications properly. The Nurse provides two health groups per week. The schedule for the Nurse position is generally 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday, however some evenings and weekends are required and the Nurse is on call 24/7/365. 

Requirements: 

  • Must be a license Registered Nurse
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree or Masters in related counseling field
  • Must have experience working with youth and must possess ability and experience to relate will with youth
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish 
  • Excellent driving skills and current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years 
  • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
  • Must pass medical, criminal, motor vehicle and background check

"The position you are accepting is a temporary position that will exist in a program/physical building that will have non-symptomatic, symptomatic and COVID 19 positive clients. The goal of this special temporary program is to provide supportive and clinical services to vulnerable populations. It will be important that all staff follow CDC's guidelines for self-care and the protective measures identified by CDC when working during the COVID 19 pandemic."

All positions require pre-employment drug screening and criminal record checks. Many positions require motor vehicle record evaluations and medical clearances.
