Center For Family Services is seeking a Shift Captain for our Transitions (STAS) program.    Transitions is a community-based treatment stabilization and assessment program offering a caring and supportive healing home for New Jersey youth ages 13-17.  The Shift Captain will assist in the supervision of the youth and staff and leading a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides crisis and ongoing counseling to youth, families, and parents.
• Provides supervision of staff and leadership
• Provides group counseling services as required
• Assists in the supervision of shelter youth
• Assists in providing shift coverage and completes shift responsibilities
• Follows and enforces all policies and procedures of the shelter
• Attends program business meetings and other necessary meetings as required
• Provides training for new staff and volunteers
• Meets regularly with program supervisor for time structuring and other evaluative meetings

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field
• Two or more years experience working with the program population
• Licensed Driver for at least three years
• Must pass an initial and ongoing motor vehicle record check evaluations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
